Winter’s hottest travel destinations

If you want to escape the cold this winter then take a look at these hot and exciting travel destinations from white beaches to trekking in the mountains!

Plan ahead and ensure you have something to look forward to when the cold months of winter come around. From trekking holidays in Nepal, to seeking out the best white sand beaches in the Philippines, here is our list of places to book flights to this year to grab some winter sun.

Costa Rica
With a coastline facing both the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean, Costa Rica is an ideal destination for some winter sun. Misty waterfalls, rugged rainforest, exotic wildlife, deserted beaches and adventures abound. Try kayaking, white water rafting or scuba diving, or simply sit back and relax.

The 2016 Olympics trust Rio de Janeiro into the spotlight. After watching the beach volleyball take place on Copacabana beach and the cycling race through the rainforest hills on TV, you want to see it for yourself now surely?

As relations thaw between America and Cuba, the island is destined to be sucked into mainstream tourism, so this is your last chance to go before the five star hotels and commercialism take over. The biggest island in the Caribbean, Cuba offers idyllic palm fringed beaches less than an hour from the beautifully faded Havana.

The Quirimbas archipelago off the coast of northern Mozambique mingles 34 islands, many of which are uninhabited, with the Indian Ocean. Sand bars, coral reefs and mangroves make this area rich with marine life, and snorkelling and sea-kayaking are ideal pursuits.

Boracay, Philippines
Surfers have been keeping Boracay their little secret for years, but a new airport on the island means Boracay is now easier to get to. Less than an hour from capital Manila, and quieter than some of the larger islands, Boracay has endless stretches of white sand beaches, and a new hotel designed by Philippe Starck and John Hitchcox make this the perfect time to go.

If you’ve seen the new film of The Jungle Book, starring Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson, you might now want to visit India. Writer Rudyard Kipling was inspired by the Madhya Pradesh landscape in central India where you can try and spot a wild Bengal tiger for yourself in one of the area's national parks.

Long known for their breathtaking beach beauty and opulent marine life, the 115 islands of the Seychelles provide postcard-perfect solace from a dismal winter. With six marine national parks protecting turtles, spinner dolphins and over a thousand fish species, it is a scuba diver’s dream.

Remember to pack Pantene Pro-V Volume and Body shampoo and conditioner – or Head & Shoulders Smooth & Silky 2 in 1 - to save on packing space - to help your hair recover from all those sea swims, and to look gorgeous for your romantic dinners by the beach.

It is now safe to go back to Nepal after the devastating earthquakes last year, and what better way to show your support for the people than by giving the hard-hit tourism industry a boost.

Warm weather and clear skies make October and November the ideal time to take in the incredible mountain vistas of Annapurna and Everest on a trekking holiday. Visit the Kathmandu Valley, which has the largest concentration of UNESCO heritage sites in the world, many of which had to undergo serious restoration projects after earthquake damage. There are also many picturesque villages to visit along the way.
