Wherever there is water, there is limescale, which is why your bathroom and kitchen tiles look dull so quickly.

But follow these four steps and you’ll feel like you’ve got a brand new bathroom or kitchen in no time at all.

1. Give them a dust

First of all, wipe the tiles down with a clean, dry cloth. This will get rid of any dust particles, enabling you to do a deeper clean without disruption.

2. Clean the grout out

Using a cleaner that contains bleach, such as Flash Task Spray with Bleach, spray the grout directly and leave it to soak for five minutes.

Using a hard-bristled cleaning brush or a toothbrush, scrub along the grout. You’ll see a satisfying amount of dirt escaping from the nooks and crannies. Mop up any dirty residue with a dry cloth.

3. Use Viakal to eliminate limescale

Limescale is the chalky white residue left behind by hard water. If left alone it quickly makes your tiles look dull and grimy.

To get rid of this, spray the tiles with Viakal Limescale Remover. You can wipe it away immediately or leave it to work for five minutes on particularly scaly tiles. Wipe with a dry or damp cloth and rinse with water.

Not only does Viakal dissolve the limescale instantly, but it also leaves an anti-limescale film that repels water and helps prevent limescale build up, leaving it free from limescale for up to three times longer.

You can use it on your taps, showerheads and stainless steel sinks too. Watch the video above for more information.

4. Give them a polish

There’s no need to dry the tiles after using Viakal, but if you want an extra shiny finish, polish them with a clean, dry cloth.
