You recycle, have a bag for life and think twice before driving the car, but here’s one more easy way you can help protect the planet…

Most of us recognise the importance of making sustainable choices in order to reduce harm to the environment and protect the planet for future generations.

There are so many easy little tweaks we can make to our daily life to be a bit more eco-friendly – switching off lights when leaving the room, turning down the thermostat and choosing energy-efficient bulbs and appliances.

And now there’s one more you can add to the list, thanks to Ariel Gel Cold Wash.

According to the Energy Savings Trust, running a cold wash uses 57% less energy per cycle than one at 40°C*, and reducing energy consumption is one of the major ways in which we can live our lives more sustainably.

And while turning down your washing cycle temperature to 30° or less used to mean sub-standard cleaning, Ariel Gel Cold Wash is specially formulated to work at lower temperatures. So you can turn down that dial and still achieve the superior cleaning you’ve come to expect from Ariel.

Indeed, Ariel Gel Cold Wash has been approved by the Good Housekeeping Institute for brilliant cleaning at lower temperatures.

How it works

Certain stains, especially those greasy ones that are particularly hard to remove, have a high melting point. This means that washing them at a lower temperature can be less effective.

However, Ariel Gel Cold Wash is specifically formulated to work on these hard-to-remove stains and provide superior cleaning in cool temperatures.

The gel features a hydrophobic (or “water-hating”) surfactant system, which works particularly well on greasy stains. It also contains an exclusive water hardness scavenger, so even if you live in a hard water area you will still see its superior cleaning power in action in cold water.

So turn down the dial and do your bit for the planet, without compromising on the cleanliness of your clothes.

* Washing clothes at 30°C rather than 40°C reduces your washing machine’s energy consumption by 57% per cycle. Based on the average energy use at different temperatures from lab testing of 55 washing machine models. Energy use was monitored on an empty load. Weighted average figures are calculated using washing behaviour data from a French study, which is used as a proxy for UK habits.
