They’re the experts in taking care of your mouth. But what happened when Fixodent tried to repair the gnashers of lions, leopards and hyenas?

Replacing lost teeth can transform lives, improving physical health and restoring confidence. But that doesn’t just apply to humans.

Wild animals like lions don’t only rely on their teeth for hunting and protection – many of them are social animals whose gnashers are vital for their day-to-day interactions with each other.

So when Fixodent heard of 20 animals with missing or broken teeth, they wanted to help. They introduced a team of dental experts to lion whisperer Kevin Richardson and set up a purpose-built operating theatre at Richardson’s animal sanctuary.

The experts worked on the nine lions, nine hyenas and two leopards – including Aslan, a rare white lion – for five days straight. Over the course of 60 hours of dental work, a number of tense moments left everyone breathless.

All’s well that ends well, however. The risky operation paid off beautifully and the animals proved how much better life is with when you get your bite back.

Watch the incredible video above to discover some of the highlights of this amazing project.
