Four ways to soak up every moment of summer

Four ways to soak up every moment of summer

The British summer - blink and you miss it. But getting out in the sunshine is vital for your wellbeing, so here are four ways to enjoy it while it lasts.

As the summer stretches ahead of us, we are faced with endless possibilities of how to spend our free time - when it’s not raining, that is.

With three in four of us craving more time spent outdoors*, when the sun IS shining, make the most of every minute by getting outside and reconnecting with nature. It’s a proven mood-booster and will help you feel better prepared for when winter rolls in.

Here are four of our favourite ways to embrace the great outdoors at any given opportunity:

Take a detour

Instead of your usual route to the shops, why not take a detour through your local park? The sun on your back, the sight of the beautiful shrubbery and the long-lasting scent of vibrant flowers is sure to boost your mood.,

Exercise outdoors

The beauty of exercising outdoors is the space you’re in. Swap the screen of the treadmill for the beautiful scenery as you breathe in the fresh air around you.

Perhaps practice outdoor yoga to help feel both revitalised and balanced. For inspiration, check out the Best yoga poses for women over 50 here.

Take up a new skill

Gardening can be soothing and great for stress relief. As you tend to your plants, take the time to breathe in the fragrant air, feel the earth between your fingers, and listen to the bird song as you go.

Capture the moments of nature

Do you wish you could capture the scents of nature? Now you can with Lenor’s Inspired by Nature collection. Recreating the favourite scents of spring, you can wrap yourself in long-lasting freshness every day.

The latest fragrance addition, Wild Verbena, offers a zesty, clean, green scent, perfect for freshly laundered sheets. Then there’s invigorating Deep Sea Minerals to soothe and relax, revitalising Silk Tree Blossom to boost your mood and Shea Butter to wrap you in comforting scent.

Expertly crafted, new Lenor provides specially curated long-lasting freshness, so you can boost your mood and immerse yourself in nature’s beauty, all day long.

How do you make the most of sunny days? Let us know in the comments section below.

Outdoors with the children

I make the most of it with my children whether it's a bike ride to the park, picnic or even painting their old pe tops and turning them into football shirts!! The kids absolutely loved doing this and the best thing it didn't cost a penny!!

Tea party in the garden

Marianne 17/08/2017

I like a tea party in the garden. I wish we had an open air swimming pool near us, but sadly do not. We still do a lot of swimming, and it's nice to have a sunny day to get all the towels dry on the line outdoors. It's lovely to have a fresh smelling towel to get dried in after washing off the pool smell.
