Four summer looks you’ll love

What’s your summer style? From beach boho to Riviera chic, we have four fab looks that will suit you and your personality.

What’s your summer style? From beach boho to Riviera chic, we have four fab looks that will suit you and your personality.

From flower power to power suits, we’ve all seen fashions come and go – and probably have some rather embarrassing photos to show for it!

But, over the years, you have figured out what suits you and developed your own great sense of style. However, this doesn’t mean that every summer you should dust down the same-old outfits and get stuck in a fashion rut.

So if you’re looking for a new look, why not try out the summer style below that suits your personality? Or skip from one to the other, depending on what mood you’re in! The important thing is to have fun, and know that you look summer-sational…

Totally tropical

You’re fun, outgoing, and the life and soul of the party. So you need an outfit as loud and fabulous as you are…

The clothes: bright tropical prints are fab for summer. Opt for a floaty kaftan worn over black leggings or skinny jeans, and pair with sandals for daytime, or comfy heels at night. Alternatively, try tropical-print wide-leg trousers, or smart cigarette trousers cropped at the ankle, and team with a plain T-shirt and statement necklace.

The hair: a messy head of tight bouncy curls looks as fun as you are. Curly hair tends to be dry, so avoid frizz by washing your hair with Pantene 3 Minute Miracle Volume Conditioner to nourish your hair while giving it some va-va voom.

Let your hair air-dry, occasionally flipping your head upside down and scrunching your hair with your hands to encourage curls. Once dry, use a curling wand to add sporadic corkscrew curls, allow to cool, then tease out with your fingers.

The make-up: a dewy complexion paired with bold coral, orange or pink lips will add the finishing touch to your look.

Beach boho

You’re relaxed, happy and love the outdoors, so you need an outfit that’s as comfortable as it is pretty.

The clothes: long, floaty dresses and skirts are your friends. Also shawls, tassels, lace, and a neutral palette of whites, creams and tans. Layer accessories to add colour, with long necklaces and detailed bangles in silver, gold, bronze and turquoise, then finish with a gorgeous pair of metallic or tan leather sandals.

The hair: beach waves are, of course, perfect for this look. Wash your hair with Aussie Beach Mate to restore any goodness lost to the sand and surf, and allow to air dry, or blow-dry on a low setting while scrunching your hair.

Before bed, braid your hair into one or two plaits. The next day, release your hair and tease it out with your fingers, scrunching in a little sea salt spray for a more tousled look.

The make-up: Use bronzer to give your face a sun-kissed glow, and try a silvery or bronze eyeshadow and neutral lips.

Riviera chic

You’re sophisticated and love to holiday in Europe, sipping sundowners by the water before dining on local seafood. Bliss.

The clothes: White linen trousers, a Breton top and oversized sunglasses. Done.

The hair: Make sure your hair is impossibly smooth, sleek and dandruff-free by washing with Head & Shoulders Smooth and Silky before blow-drying your hair poker straight and dividing it with a sleek centre parting.

The make-up: Go for a fresh face with just a slick of black eyeliner and a gorgeous red pout.

Floral and flirty

You’re feminine, giggly and love nothing more than a romantic stroll along the beach.

The clothes: A dress with a floaty, waterfall hemline, perhaps with an off-the-shoulder number for added flirt-factor. Frills, ruffles and of course floral prints with a pastel colour palette are all gorgeously feminine.

The hair: Show off your neck with an up-do. Tie your hair into a low ponytail and use a hair donut to build a bun. Pull a few wispy strands out to frame your face and make the whole look more romantic. For a finishing touch, pin a floral slide or even a fresh flower into the top left or right side of your bun.

The make-up: Recreate that loved-up glow with a swipe of highlighter under your eyebrows, the inner corners of your eyes, above your cheekbones, down your nose and on your cupid’s bow. Brush a flush of blush on your cheeks, and finish with a pinky or peachy lip gloss. Mwah.

I always pack Aussie leave in conditioner spray . This stops the ends of my hair going frizzy . I like the fact that I don't have to dress up and wear tons of make up too. I take a small assortment of pretty hair slides and a couple of claw clips then forget about styling my hair .It dries so quickly in hot sun .

Your hot-weather hair problems solved!

From dry hair to dandruff to fading colour, we look at how the summer can play havoc with your hair – and how to fix it.
