5 steps to winterproof your skin

Maintain your summer glow while protecting your skin from winter weather.

As autumn approaches, it’s time to make some changes to your skincare routine. You want to maintain the healthy glow you’ve had all summer, while protecting your skin from the potential damage caused by winter weather.

The following advice and professional tips will ensure your skin looks its best through the darkest months.

1. Unclog your pores
The amazing truth is that we have more than 300,000 pores on our face, which can double in size by the time you reach 50. Also, during summer, when we tend to be hotter and sweatier, our sebum levels rocket, making our pore sizes stretch, too! To help shrink them back to their pre-summer size use a gentle exfoliating scrub at least once a week to clear away any dead skin cells and dirt from over-stretched pores. Your daily dose of sunscreen during summer would have clogged your pores, too, so switch your sunscreen for a more lightweight moisturiser with added SPF.

2. Keep protecting skin from the sun
